Howdy,
My name is Emily Fry (formerly Emily Plecker) artist and creator behind the EPP brand. Born into a family of 4th generation hobby cattle farmers in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia I grew up surrounded in the culture that put mud on your best boots. My love for photography began when I was just a kid plastering my walls in polaroids, magazine clippings and film from disposable cameras. Ten years of my career has been spent as a portrait and wedding photographer but the last five I have thrived as a western lifestyle, brand and fashion photographer. And if you'd asked me ten years ago when I graduated a small arts college in rural VA and moved back to my tiny town in the mountains with a population of less than 5,000 if I thought I would be working my dream job as an artist...I'd tell you, "no way." But I'm a dreamer and a chaser and I pray a lot. And well... here we are.
Starting a farm of our own, my husband and my two year old son enjoy time well spent in the mountains on horseback, aimless driving on backroads at golden hour and entertaining a full house on the farm with friends and family.
My career has put me in the throws of the western industry, traveling the west and creating for some of my favorite brands that have sustained ranch and farm culture for decades. Hopefully one day someone else will write something really profound about me in this portion of my website but for now you get my version. I could tell you more about all my success and how you should absolutely hire me but instead I'll just say...
NEVER. STOP. CHASING. YOUR. DREAMS.
I didn't and now I'm living it.
Cheers,
Emily
“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.”
